Village Hall

The village hall was built in 1953.  The work was started by some of the men from the village on their safe return from war.

In the last six years the hall has been completely refurbished.  New toilets and a bar area have been installed, together with a disabled toilet to conform to the Disability Act.  We have also had a new roof.  We were lucky enough to get some grants but in the main it was done through a lot of hard work and fundraising.  It has been completely redecorated and a new kitchen fitted.  The rear of the hall has been made into a garden and lawned area large enough to hold events in. At the present time the following regular events take place in the hall:

  • Carpet Bowls – every Friday evening starting at 8pm,
  • The Woman’s Guild every first Thursday of the month at 8pm,
  • Scrap Book Classes are held every first Saturday of the month  between 10am and 4pm.,
  • Cash Bingo – held on the last Tuesday of the month starting at 7.30pm,
  • Pilates Ladies – held on Tuesday mornings and evenings, and on Thursday mornings.

But we do have to rely on hiring the hall out.  You can contact the booking officer on 01362 687428
